Extras with a love of opera are needed for a YouTube video being shot in Kent.

Opera will arrive in Borough Green, Tonbridge and Malling, when soprano Marika Rauscher appears at the Cafe Troika to shoot a video for her charity Red Card Cancer appeal.

Marika, known for her range of vocal talents, and has sung in films including Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, King Kong, Spider Man 3, The Island, and The Da Vinci Code.

She has also recorded material at the world renowned Abbey Road Studios.

Now she is making a video in aid of the Tribute 2 a Legend Trust, which in turn hopes the night will raise funds for two important projects.

One is the Legends Football Academies which empowers teenage cancer survivors using football to enable them to improve their quality of life. It also helps keep the memory and legacy of Sir Alf Ramsey a football legend alive.

A survivor of childhood cancer may endure health worries with their heart, lungs, and kidneys. The academy aims to encourage survivors to get together and play football, bringing communities together through the sport.

Also benefitting is Working Class Heroes which is a rap opera set against the background of last summer’s riots featuring young people of who decided it was time to voice their own views and opinions showing that not all young people are ineed anti-social.

The talents displayed will be from the world of fashion, with young designers showing their skills with colour, design and material, street dance performers and from the world of music where young musicians showcase their music and lyrics, each media highlighting their views against anti-social behaviour.

Marika said: “For me as an entertainer to be given the chance to help the charity with my Red Card Cancer appeal music video is a fantastic feeling. From 11,000 entrants, I was lucky to be one of the 500 winners who have been selected by the Vodafone Foundation to work with Tribute 2 a Legend.”

And Paul Bowman, Cafe Troika general manager, added: “It’s absolutely fantastic that Marika will be performing live here.

“When I was approached by the Tribute 2 a Legend Trust asking for help with the filming of the Red Card Cancer appeal music video I had no hesitation in saying yes - this will be a great opportunity to generate awareness of all the hard work the charity put in, and help raise much needed funds for these two projects.”

To be in with a chance of appearing in the video on February 25, you must be over 18 years old and smartly dressed, and phone Joe Leslie at the charity on 07891 401 466 for an invite to Cafe Troika at 7pm.
