The Fleet had Ross Smith on the bench as the defender began his third spell at the club but the side were unable to build on the 3-0 midweek victory against Tamworth. Matt Green put the Stags in front midway through the first half and Gary Roberts doubled the advantage before the break.

Roberts added another in second half stoppage time to inflict the biggest home defeat on Ebbsfleet so far this season, although they remained 14th in the Conference Premier table.

Dartford made it five Conference South wins on the spin as they thumped rock bottom Thurrock 6-0 at Princes Park. Skipper Elliot Bradbrook scored twice on his birthday as Tony Burman’s side took advantage of the strugglers to improve their goal difference.

The win took the Darts clear in second place as the two sides below them, Welling United and Chelmsford City, shared a 1-1 draw at Park View Road. Loick Pires equalised for the Wings before half-time, but the home side’s hopes of going on to win the game were hit when player/manager Jamie Day was sent off.

Bromley produced arguably the result of the day as they ended a 14-game winless streak with an impressive 3-0 win away to high-flying Weston-super-Mare. Hakeem Araba’s brace sent them on their way to a win which lifted the Lillywhites out of the bottom three.

Dover Athletic’s unbeaten run was extended to seven league games, but they could only draw 1-1 at home to Salisbury City. Glen Southam’s second half equaliser left the Whites four points from the play-off places.

Margate were unable to make it six successive wins in the Ryman Premier as they lost 2-1 at Carshalton Athletic, while Cray Wanderers dropped out of the top five following a goalless draw with Kingstonian.

Baff Addae and Alex Waugh were on target as Maidstone United beat lowly Whyteleafe 2-0. It was enough for the Stones to climb into fourth place in Ryman Division One South, leapfrogging Folkestone Invicta, who slumped to a surprising 4-0 defeat at home to Merstham.

Hythe Town drew 1-1 with fellow play-off chasers Chipstead, while there were goalless draws for Ramsgate and Whitstable Town, at home to Eastbourne Town and Crawley Down respectively. Sittingbourne were thrashed 4-1 at Worthing and Faversham Town were also unable to take anything from their home game against leaders Bognor Regis Town, who won 2-0.

In Ryman Division One North, Chatham Town conceded twice in the final five minutes to draw 2-2 at home to Potters Bar Town.

VCD Athletic ended Herne Bay’s unbeaten run in the Kent League with a 2-1 win. There were plenty of goals elsewhere in the division, with Beckenham Town, Tunbridge Wells and Erith & Belvedere all running up handsome wins.
